2014 Stitching Goals

Do I really need to subject myself to the possibility that I might get to April and still be no further along with this plan than where I am at today? YES! because I really would like to get these pictures completed before my grandsons are grown and married with children of there own. (This could be a lesson to live by).

The most important thing of all is that I need to get back to stitching more regularly. My stitching took an unplanned vacation for almost two years and forgot to let me know about it. But, I am happy to say that it has returned, not with a vengeance but at a leisurely pace.

My 2014 stitching goal is to stitch 100,000 stitches across four different projects this year. At an easier to digest amount of 350 stitches per day for the rest of the year. Hopefully manageable, so I have work to do.

Until next time, happy stitching

Part 2 completed. Check....

I have accomplished my goals for 2012. I'm so glad that there were really only two major ones that I had to focus on, because with the way this year has gone, if there were too many more it wouldn't have happened.

The first three pages on QS Curl up with a good book are finished. I will put the final three on my goal list for next year. Speaking of which, I must make another for the new year, I think I will keep it simple again and have just a couple of "Must Do" projects and then a separate list of "Would like to do" projects.

Part 1 completed. Check....

I have been MIA for a while but life has settled enough for me to become interested in stitching again and thought the best place to start would be with the goals I had set myself for this year, so here we go.

I finally got SK Masquerade completed. It has taken a little while, approximately 2 1/2 years. OMG!!! I didn't even realize it had been that long. Anyway that's enough prattling on, let's get down to business. Here she is:

Started: August 25, 2010
Stitched on: 28ct Lavendar Lugana using 1 thread over 1, full cross stitch
Finished: December 3, 2012.

That is part 1 of this years goals completed. I am off to complete my second goal before the end of the year. Good thing the list wasn't too long.

Thanks ....

Thank you all for the very kind wishes for my grandson. They are all very appreciated at this time in our lives. He is growing well and looks healthy despite having breathing difficulty.

On to other things in life, I completed my second assignment for one of my papers and now I can spend time focusing on the other paper. I should have three quarters of the final page on Storykeep Masquerade completed by the time I get around to posting this update, which means I will have a photo op - YAY!! I did finish the 3rd quarter of page 3. Now I would like to get it finished hopefully during this month. Full steam ahead!

Until next time, happy stitching

New Addition ....

I have been caught up in life and because of that I have been missing. Hopefully things will settle a bit and I can get back into both blogging and stitching.

Our daughter had her second child on Tuesday 24th April, 2012. Our second grandson, hopefully no more for a little while as it is possible that this little guy may have Cystic Fibrosis. We are waiting on the doctors. So, fingers crossed that all is ok.

My two pattern choices for this month were Couch Dragon by Randal Spangler and QS Pick A Pumpkin by CC Kuik.

I decided that I would go back to University at the beginning of 2012 to get my degree. The way the economy is, its proving difficult to find work, and besides I would like to do something different. Since I decided to make this decision, it has affected my stitching. I'm half way through the 1st semester and I haven't had any chance to get to my stitching. I am trying to get time to work on at least one of my projects. I guess I thought that I would still have some free time, but that hasn't eventuated yet.

Thank you....

Thank you so much to Adrienne over at TryllaCraft for giving me this award.

Here are all the details about the Liebster Blog award:

Liebster is a German word, meaning favourite, dearest or beloved, and the Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition.

The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:
  1. Choose 5 up-and-coming (with fewer than 200 followers) blogs to award the Liebster to.
  2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
  3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blogs so they know about the award.
